Printable: Is the Moon Made of Cheese?

Free Printable Coloring Page by Paisley In Paris™

Being a mom is definitely the most challenging and most rewarding experience I’ve ever had. I was never a worrier until I became a mother. Never in my life had I been so exhausted until I became a mother. Never did my memory fail me, until I became a mother. There’s so much going on in the life of a mom, managing a home, her health and well-being, finances, career, and the activities other people in her household. Never did I value my privacy so much, until I became a mom. I’m 10 years into this mom thing and I still can’t pee without being approached with a question on other side of the door. And never did I know the meaning of true love until I laid eyes on that tiny little human for the first time. Watching her grow and become this whole other person with her own thoughts and feelings right before my very eyes has been absolutely magical. There’s so much beauty inside of her, and so much curiosity which results in oh so many questions. My God! The questions, day in and day out. Sometimes I just want to scream at the top of my lungs “Can you just be quiet for ONE second please!” because I honestly cannot hear myself think. But I don’t. I remain as calm as I possibly can, and kindly ask for a moment of silence so I can concentrate on the task at hand. You see, it is that same curiosity that will drive her in life to go places, to learn and explore and find answers on her own.

Needless to say, it was my own daughter that inspired this doodle in my sketchbook which I am releasing today as a free printable. And what better time to share than the Friday before Mother’s Day. So this one’s for you, mommies! In appreciation of all your hard work and patience, because boy, does it take patience. But remember, when your little ones drives you crazy with question after question, it was curiosity that led mankind to set foot on the moon.

Have a great weekend and to all you moms out there, have a very Happy Mother’s Day!

"Cafecito Con Leche" Printable Kitchen Decor

Spanish Lettering Framed Art

Yay - It's Freebie Friday!
Yes my friends, "Freebie Friday" is back on the blog! I decided to revive the posts, but rather than doing it randomly as I had in the past, I am aiming to post a new printable the first Friday of every month. All freebies will be accessed through my website, and you will be notified via Instagram and Facebook when a new printable is available so make sure you're following Paisley In Paris™ on social media so you don't miss out!

What is "Cafecito con Leche y Canelita"?
Today's hand-lettered piece was inspired by my hubby and our love of coffee. The text reads "Cafecito con Leche y Canelita" which is Spanish for "Coffee with Milk and Cinnamon". This is a daily must in our household, mostly for my husband. I like a little variety, so I mix it up a bit and alternate between coffee, green shakes or tea throughout the week.

How to prepare Cafecito con Leche y Canelita
We drink mostly instant coffee since we're not home long enough in the mornings to drink a whole pot. To prepare it, we:
  1. Add a small cinnamon stick (aka "canela" or "canelita") into a small pot full of water and let it boil. Once it's boiling, we cover it with a lid so the water has time to absorb the flavor of the cinnamon. (We use the cinnamon stick several times before throwing it out. And yes, the pot has a permanent place on our stove. We just add more water to it the next day.)
  2. Pour the cinnamon water into a cup, fill it about 2/3 of the way and add the desired amount of instant coffee ("café" or "cafecito").
  3.  Fill the rest of the cup with milk ("leche") instead of creamer.
  4. Sweeten with a teaspoon of honey or brown sugar if desired.
  5. Enjoy!
And that my friends, is a great way to start the day. We also have an electric percolator. When we use it, we simply include a small cinnamon stick with the coffee and let it brew. Once the coffee has brewed, follow steps 2-5.

"Let It Flow" Productivity Mantra & Free Download

I am the queen of busy! I work a full time job, I have a half-hour commute in each direction, a 10 year old with extracurricular activities, a hard working husband whom I like to spoil with home cooked meals, a workout routine I'm trying hard not to break and I have tons and tons of ideas for my stationery business along with other personal goals. One day, in the midst of daily chaos, I slowed down to pray and meditate. "When?" I asked, "When will I have time to do everything I want to do for my business?" and as I asked, the answer came to me..."Let it flow". You see, it doesn't matter how busy we are or how much time we have available. The truth is, no matter what our tasks are, we will get through them one step at a time. It doesn't matter if we have 10 hours a day to work on a desired project, or just 1 hour in 10 days. Whether we have a chunk of time all at once or scattered throughout our week, we still have to fill that time with the steps involved in the process to accomplish our goals. So all we can do is remain consistent, keep working at it, "let if flow" and it will come to fruition.

The phrase has since become a productivity mantra for me. I used the phrase to create this hand-lettered document which includes a few lines to write down the goals I want to focus on at the moment. Once I write them down, I feel as if I were releasing them to the universe. I trust that I will be provided with the time and opportunities to achieve each goal, as I continue working towards them, one step at a time.

I have set up a complimentary printable file which you can access through my website in hopes that you find both inspiration and motivation to remain focused and on task. Now come on - let's go make our dreams come true!

Little Red Riding Hood Coloring Page

I have a niece that's in the process of learning her shapes and colors. I am also an avid doodler, and I find inspiration in just about anything. This time, I was inspired to create a kids coloring book (still a work in progress) and a variety of printable coloring pages that can be used as a learning tool for kids. This is my first of many more printables to come!
If your little ones are already familiar with the story of Little Red Riding Hood, they will most likely enjoy coloring a picture of her, since it's someone they already "know."  Just hand them a few crayons or markers and guide them through the process. You might ask them to find the red crayon and color the cape in red, then ask them to find the yellow crayon and suggest the use it to color the sun, and just like that, learning becomes fun!

This Little Red Riding Hood is my original illustration, right out of my sketchbook, and is available as a printable download through my website for only $0.99.

Free 3.25" Square Envelope Template

Hope you all spent a fabulous New Year weekend! I spent some time with my family on New Year's Eve, then spent New Year's Day in my PJ's cleaning, decluttering and crafting - I loved it!
I made several cards this weekend, including a 3.25" square envelope template for you to enjoy! Just print the file, cut around the edges and fold, or follow these easy steps to create a durable template that you'll be able to use over and over again on a variety of paper stocks.
You'll need: a computer, printer, empty cereal box, scissors & glue stick.
Step 1: Print the 3.25" Square Envelope Template.
Step 2: Glue the printout onto the cover of a cereal box (printed side of the template should face you, glue on the back).
Step 3: Cut around the edges and enjoy!
Note: You can get two small envelopes out of one standard 8.5x11 sheet of paper. Just trace, cut out your shapes, fold the edges towards the center and glue them together.
Get creative! Make envelopes out of newspaper, old maps, scrapbooking paper, magazine pages, gift bags or anything else you can think of. ~ Happy New Year! Enjoy!
